Here he Comes!
Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some days. Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues: 'He is the Son of God.'
But all who heard him became astounded and said, "isn't this the man who, in Jerusalem, was destroying those who called on the name and then came here for the purpose of takin gem as prisoners to the chief priests?"
But Saul grew more capable and kept confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this One is the Messiah.
After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him, but their plot became known to Saul. So they were watching the gate day and night intendin. To kill him, but his disciples took him by night and lowered him in a large basket through an opening in the wall. Acts 9:20-25
Saul performed well: he won himself disciples and enemies wanting to kill him, hallmarks of a Christian leader, in those days.
I can imagine how frightened the early church was with Saul, he was a bad dude before and now to believe he was changed took effort, or should I say, faith.
Saul was already exhibiting the nature hat would travel around the then known world, a deep knowledge of scripture and a passion to win souls, a determination to never give up and faith that his God would deliver him from the enemy's hands.
Passion and fire are good, a love for truth is good, a desire for God's ways finds Him. Amen!
