Jealousy

The following Sabath almost the whole town assembled to hear the message of the Lord but when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to oppose what Paul was saying by insulting him.
Then Paul and Barnabas bodily said, "It was necessary that God's word was spoken to you first. But since you rejected it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For this is what the Lord commanded us:
'I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'
When the Gentiles heard this they rejoiced and glorified the message of the Lord, and all who had been appointed eternal life believed. So the message of the Lord spread through the whole region. Acts 13:4-49

How common is jealousy, and how it robs us of all God has for us. We have seen jelousy lead to murder of the innocent. It is a powerful, nasty emotion and one that must be faced off and brought down. Why go to jail for jealousy?

How gracious ofPaul and Barnabas to go to the Jews first with the good news, before the Gentiles, but how the Gentiles rejoice!

I am one grateful Gentile! Amen!

The success of others is something to rejoice in and yes it hurst sometimes, especially when you are the one to suffer. Suffer a little and give God the room to change you and fill you with a sweet smelling fragrance. Amen!
