Opposition

The same thing happened in Iconium; they entered the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Gentiles believed. But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against the brothers. So they stayed there for some time and spoke boldly in reliance on the Lord, who testified to the message of His grace by granting that signs and wonders be performed through them. But the people of the city were divided, some siding with each the Jews and some with the apostles. When an attempt was made by both the Gentiles and the Jews, with emir rulers, to assault and stone them, they found out about it and fled to Lycaonian towns called Lystra and Derbe, and to the surrounding countryside. And there they kept evangelising. Acts 14:1-7

Signs and wonders help those with open hearts but do nothing for the hard hearted non-believers. Only the grace of God can soften the hard hearts. Paul and Barnabas were faithful in evangelising even in the face of persecution and rejection.

Again and again we see the energy the jealous expend in trying to defend their turf. Again they stir up strife and endeavour to kill the apostles.

Several weeks ago a client of mine had a sudden heart attack and ended up in a coma with suspected brain damage. I agreed to pray for him and sought the Lord for his life. Last week, miraculously he came out of the coma and is on the mend. It is amazing how some claim it was a miracle and others claim the energy and thoughts towards him did the deed. I shake my head at the thinking of many who refuse to believe.

Futile thinking filled with self- reliance and the gospel of self, with the help of Mr  Universe will all line hell unless God intervenes. Today I received a prophesy about the new move of God coming on the earth. The word God gave was that the lost would come in. I wait expectantly. Amen! Mr universe has stolen someone close to me, he will have to yield this person, in Jesus' name! Amen!
