The Holy Spirit Leads

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astounded because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speaking in other languages and declaring the greatness of God. Then Peter responded, "Can anyone withhold water and prevent these people from being baptised, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? And he commanded them to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay for a few days, Acts 10:44-48

Peter had preached about ages us to all those gathered in Cornelius' house. While he was speaking the Holy Spirit, the ultimate barometer and gauge of our spiritual condition, decided to baptise the hearers in His Holy Spirit. These people had not known about the manifestation of tongues, but that is exactly what happened. 

I love it when the Holy Spirit takes charge, He knows us better than we know ourselves. We can trust Him to come through in our lives. Amen!

I know I am safe when the Holy Spirit is in charge, we tend to manufacture things, He doesn't. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
