The Opposition

Now as they were speaking t the people, the priests, the commander of the temple police, and the Saducees confronted them, because they were provoked that they were teaching the people and proclaiming the resurrection from the dead, using Jesus as the example. So they seized them and put them in custody until the next day, since it was already evening. But many of those who heard the message believed, and the number of the men came to about 5,000. Acts 4:1-4

When do you admit you are wrong? Some need to be proven wrong, some are sensitive to the Holy Spirit and respond to His witness that they are wrong and some simply refuse to admit they are wrong, even in the face of overpowering truth to the contrary. The priests and Saducees were in the last category, or should I say, most were,

You cannot resist the Holy Spirit without detriment. Yielding would have been so much better. There was one of their number who had to have a confrontation with the very One he opposed, I am taking about Paul here. He was a Pharisee of all Pharisees, in his own words. Yet the Lord won him. Yes!

The Lord is not worried about opposition, it makes Him look even better. Amen!
