Word of Power

The next day, their rulers, elders, and scribes assembled in Jerusalem wih Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John and Alexander, and all the members of the high priestly family. After they had Peter and John stand before them, they asked the question: "By what power or in what name have you. Done this?"
Then Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit and said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders: if we are being examined today about a good deed done to a disabled man- by what means he was healed- let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name Jesus Christ the Nazarene- whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead- by Him this man is standing here before you healthy. This Jesus is 'the stone rejected by you builders, which has become the cornerstone.' There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people, and we must be saved by it." Acts 4:5-12

The very thing the leaders said would happen, did happen. If word got around that Jesus rose from the dead the place would be in a bigger dilemma than before. They thought they had contained the new life by crucifying Jesus but the fire was spreading and now 5,000 was saved because of the healing of the lame man, and previously 3,000 were saved because of the outpouring gf the Holy Spirit. How could they contain that which they could not see? The Holy Spirit was the power and the unction by which Peter and John spoke and performed miracles.

We no longer see fearful men but rather men empowered and embolden by the Holy Spirit. He makes a difference. Yesterday I went to a car wash and pulls up beside a young man who as vacuuming his car. The Holy Spirit told me to give this man a CD I had recently been given. He kept pestering me whilst I cleaned. I went to the young man and asked what sort of music he listened to and he said "Various," so I asked if he would like a hip-hop CD and he said "yes". I had been sent 50 such CDs by a man who had come to Christ and sang hip hop. Now t is up to the Holy Spirit to use the material. Personally I did not like it but it sounded much like the same sort of music hip hop artists put out and in one particular song you could definitely hear the gospel. Go Lord!

I had been praying for a fresh baptism in the Holy Spirit. This was what He gave me. I want more. Amen!
