A New Adventure

When it was about daylight, Paul urged them all to take food saying, "Today is the fourteenth day that you have been waiting and going without food, having eaten nothing. Therefore I urge you to take some food. For this has to do with your survival, since none of you will lose a hair from your head." After he said these things and had taken some bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of the all, and when he broke it he began to eat. They all became encouraged and took food themselves. In all there were 276 of us on the ship. When they had eaten enough, they began to lighten the ship by throwing grain overboard into the sea. Acts 27:33-38

Paul, a man of faith, takes charge. The sailors were lost, hungry and ready to give up. Yet Paul encouraged them to hang in there. He knew God had a plan. God was going before him, and them also for that matter.

When it seems like the end is near, it is just the end of one vessel and the beginning of a new experience. Throughout life we travel in many vessels and they constantly change. We have different seasons and we have to be comfortable with the changes, being willing to take a new risk, in a new direction. Amen!

The men were to experience grounding and escaping into a raging sea, eventually to reach land. They would go through some wild wet times before safety, but they would get there.

I know I am about to go on a new venture. My God is in charge and I must trust Him. Amen!
