Bullied No More

When Paul realised that one part of the Sanhedrin were Pharisee and the other Saducees, he cried out, ""Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of a Pharisee! I am being judged because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead!" When he said this a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and Saducees, and the assembly was divided. For the Saducees say there is no resurrection, and no angel or spirit, but the Pharisee's affirm them all.
The shouting grew loud, and some of the scribes of the Pharisee's party got up and argued vehemently: "We find nothing evil in this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?" When the dispute became violent, the commander feared that Paul might be torn apart by them and ordered the troops to go down, rescue him from them, and bring him into the barracks. Acts 23:6-10

Paul was a master orator and a very clever man. He knew his enemy because he had been one of them. This he used to his advantage.

The Pharisee's hated one another, it appears, more than they did Paul. There are times that I find myself strong in defence and today was one of those days. For some days now I have been endeavouring to find justice for a client of mine who was deceived into making an investment that lost her most of her superannuation some years ago. She asked me for help and I did what I do best, defend the helpless. I wrote to everyone I could, I called everyone I could. One company I called several days ago. The complaints office said that his company would deny responsibility and I would be wasting my time approaching them. I took that to mean, go away. So I did, to the Ombudsman. Well, today that man called me very irrate and wanted to tell me what for. I found myself telling him to get back in his box and stood my ground. I said I was sorry he had been upset but because I knew no better I did what he said, I went away. He tried to rant some more and repeatedly I stood and said, stop and kept my place. How good does that feel when you are no longer bullied.

All my life I have had to face bullies and for the longest time they ruled, no more. Praise God He reigns! Amen! I am learning form brother Paul. I can't wait to sit down and have a coffee with this man.
