Don't be Afraid
Then the Lord said to Paul in a night vision, "Don't be afraid, but keep on speaking and don't be silent. For I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to hurt you, because I have many people in this city. " And he stayed there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. Acts 18:9-11
I can imagine that Paul might have been prone to develop a complex because of the ways the Jews reacted to him. Also, I find God tends to encourage before the storm. In Paul's case the storm was coming, he just had 18 months relief.
In his period of time Paul would have been able to stabilise the believers and give them a good foundation. However, we learn from the letters to the Corinthians that they fell into error. The city of Corinth was completely destroyed in 146 AD.
Eventually the Jews stood up against Paul and tried to have him arrested but ended by beating he leader of the synagogue instead. After this Paul only stayed a few more days and then left for Syria.
