Foolish Beliefs

For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals and reptiles.

Therefore God delivered them over in the cravings of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that they bodies were degraded among themselves. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served something created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen! Romans 1:21-25

I am watching this happen in the lives of people I know. Wilful choosing to believe nonsense and refusing to give glory to God. Some have had miracles but once over their initial joy revert to their nonsensical thinking about deities they create in their minds allowing them to escape eternal accountability. Yet, the horrifying fact is, Satan is real and his deception of them is thorough. They have chosen the lie because it suits a life of sinful living and refusing the reality of a God of justice and wrath.

Therefore their children become sexual deviants and in time they allow for this, in the guise of love and we slide further into darkness and sin.

As we relate to many on Facebook, from time to time we see their latest belief: Indian myths, Buddhas, Mr Universe. As Paul says they worship images of the created rather than the creator. Paul would have been very mindful of this as he wrote this letter whilst travelling through Greece where he encountered many strange deities.

Jesus must be at the centre of it all. Amen!
