God's Plans are Best

And so we came to Rome. Now the believers from there had heard the news about us and had come to meet us as far as the Forum of Appius and the Three Taverns. When Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage. When we entered Rome, Paul was permitted to stay by himself with a soldier who guarded him. Acts 28:14-16

Finally to have arrived in the place Paul had know he was to go, to be met by believers, how refreshing!

I have been away for the weekend minding grandchildren and we had all sorts of dramas: accidents, fights, no car, no internet (now, come on- that is hard with a bunch of youngsters needing activity). We ate well and played hard. Did lots of pretend, craft, colouring, painting, helping nan. I was able to teach my little scientist all about human anatomy, and at 6 he took it all in, even calling them systems, well done Archie! This guy is on my page, he loves colouring in, craft, animals, adventure.

Now I am home, I made it back in time for church and heard a message I needed to hear- The Second Wind, God is indeed good. Whilst away I discussed business with my son and daughter and prayed for the Lord to speak, He did, when I arrived home.

I need the Lord and His ways, His peace and His plans. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
