The Freedom of Relationship with Jesus
Then the next day, Paul took the men, having purified himself along with them, and entered the temple, announcing completion of he purification days when the offering for each of them would be made. As the seven days were about to end, the Jews from Asia saw him in the temple complex, stirred up the whole crowd, and seized him, shouting, "Men of Israel, helps, this is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people, out law, and this place. What's more he also brought agrees into the temple and has profaned this holy place." Acts 21:26-28
The Jews were despised Greeks, believed that only the Jewish law was correct and felt Paul had turned his back on all things sacred. For me to understand this I only have my catholic upbringing to compare with. In my extended family there is no thought of turning away from Catholicism, even if they don't attend, they are still Catholic. Along with the beliefs there is worship of Mary, rosary beads, holy days, worship of saints, holy water, sanctified candles and the list goes on. I loved it all and I can still sense a lot of the feeling I had to all the things I held dear, but Jesus could not be found in all of this. I had to go outside the camp to find Him. Now, He is most precious and not all the trappings, He alone.
Paul discovered this relationship with Jesus. He surpasses all pomp and ceremony. He did not display any Himself, in fact He chose, rather, to be servant of all. It was His behaviour that sets us free.
I can breathe in Him, walk in His Holy Spirit and fulfill all requirements by living in relationship with Him. Amen!
Religion robs its adherents of life, freedom and love, the love if a relationship with Jesus. Choose a relationship with Jesus, lay down the law and leave it in the sand. Amen!
