Good and Evil

The report of your obedience has reached everyone. Therefore, I rejoice over you. But I want you to be wise about what is good, yet innocent about what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Romans 16:19,20

What an honour: for all time, it is written that the Roman church was an obedient church. Can this be said about us? Obedience is done in private as well as in public. Do you have an ear for truth or are you listening to the deceiver?

Being wise about what is good when you have an ear for truth. I recently was asked advice and gave it. The person then chose to ignore my advice, which was wise at the time, (I do get it right when my heart is not ruled by emotion.) This person went on to borrow for what he should not borrow and will therefore pay the consequences. When in the consequences he will wonder why he is there, perhaps even think God has failed him, but he has failed to hear truth, he is responsible.

We are to be wise about what is good. John Bevere wrote a very good book called 'Good or God.' In it he explained that Eve was deceived by the good on the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil not the evil side. She saw the fruit was 'good to eat.'

We are to be innocent about what is evil. In other words stay away fro evil, don't be seduced by lust. Seduction is real. We can be seduced into doing something that appears good but in fact will destroy us. Satan is the master of deceit, don't be fooled! Amen!

And finally be encouraged, Satan will be crushed under you feet, if you keep you eyes on Jesus and allow Him to be Lord. Amen!

Know Your Sword!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
