The Lord is Good

The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of distress;
He cares for those who take refuge in Him.
But He will completely destroy Ninevah with an overwhelming flood,
And He will chase His enemies into darkness.
Whatever you plot against the Lord,
He will bring it to complete destruction;
Oppression will not rise up a second time.
For they will be consumed like entangled thorns,
Like the drink of a drunkard and like straw that is fully dry.
One has gone out from you, who plot evil against Yahweh,
And is a wicked counsellor. Nahum 1:7-11

The Lord does indeed care for those who take refuge in Him. Do you take refuge or play church? Do you play at being a Christian? Do you understand a Christ one is one who is imersed in the vine, belongs, makes Jesus Lord of all.  Do you know what that looks like?
It looks and feels.like peace.

As I flow with the Lord and do not take my queue from others, the world, my feelings but from Him alone I experience peace.

Ninevah represents the Assyrians who oppress God's people. God has had enough and will run to the aid of those who truly belong to Him.

As I relax and be what I am called to be, one who loves my community I relax and enjoy myself. Last Friday I was invited to an Indian child's birthday party. Tonight I was visited by new neighbours who just wanted to chat. Are they being drawn? I think so! I might just keep doing what I am meant to do and see what happens. Awesome!

I am defying all I have been taught! It is fun relaxing and loving.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
