The Same Spirit

Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, since the Spirit lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:8-11

When I was first saved we sang a chorus that took it's base from these scriptures: 'if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwell in you, dwell in you, if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwell in you, dwell in you, He will quicken your mortal bodies, if the Spirit dwells in you,halaleujah.'

Singing scripture was a sure way of learning it, even if now it appears corny. By the mere fact that I remember it goes to show it went in. I don't remember all the words of the song: Shout to the Lord and I learned it in the 90s. 

This chorus was one of many on a LP record brought out in the 70's called Scripture in Song. I loved it.

But, what does it mean? If the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me, I can apply my faith and see that same Spirit work new life in me. It does not happen automatically, I must believe and apply my faith. Amen!

If you do not have the Spirit within then you do not yet know Christ, but you can by asking Him to come on in and be Saviour and Lord. Amen!

Knowing the Spirit, walking in the Spirit is a good place to be, a place of life.

Know Your Sword!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
