Who am I Joined to?
What should we say then? Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply? Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Or are you unaware that all of us who were baptised into a His death? Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in a new way of life. For if we have been joined with Him in the likeness of a his death, we certainly also will be in the likeness of His resurrection. Romans 6:1-5
Grace is in Jesus Christ. To take the grace without the dedication of my life to stay buried in Him, is rude, arrogant even, throwing the gift of Christ's life back in His face and saying: "Worthless!"
He loves me enough to die for me, can't I love him enough to live in Him, the victory He won is mine, all I need to do is walk in it, His peace is mine, all I have to do is appropriate it, take it, by faith and walk in it. Amen!
To say yes to salvation but refuse obedience is cruel, heartless and very selfish. I cannot use my God and take what pleases me and reject the rest. This behaviour comes with a cost, there is coming a day when what I have done with the gift will be examined and I will receive my reward: either more or forever a loss of His presence. It is up to me to honour Him and use the gift wisely, treasuring it more than gold. Amen!
