Who Is in Charge?
Who can separate us from the love of Christ?
Can affliction or anguish or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
As it is written:
Because of You we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.
No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that not even death or life, Angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height one depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord! Romans 8:35-39
Yesterday I was sent a report about Christians being jailed in Nepal for preaching Christ. Apparently Nepal has one of the fastest growing rate of conversion to Christianity in the world. I am about to go there in September. As a Christian I am helping in the reconstruction effort after the earthquake. I have noted that the cost of being caught sharing Christ is a $5,000, 5 years in jail and when released from jail deportation. Being a Christian Nepali is more dangerous. The Hindu religion is trying to enshrine law that states that proselytising is an offence. I am praying for those jailed for sharing Christ.
There is danger crossing the street, driving a car, flying in a plane yet we don't count that cost. There is danger all around and the enemy does not like it if we are standing up as Christians. He has tried to kill me off and failed when I was hit by a car when riding my bike. If my God is for me, the enemy will always fail, I must put my trust in God alone.
As Christians we must allow God to be God and in charge. If God be for me who can be against me. He is in where I go and what I do. He is my reward, my prize, my comfort, my song. He is Lord of all. I cannot allow the threat to stop my advance, instead I want to investigate His goodness to me. Amen!
