Yield to Righteousness

Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies, so that you obey its desires.  And do not offer any parts of it to sin as weapons for unrighteousness. But, as those who are alive from the dead, offer yourselves to God, and all the parts of yourselves to God as weapons for righteousness. For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:12-14

Now, can you see? We are not to obey the desires of sin. This sentence almost personifies sin, does it not? Sin has desires, to live in you, rule you and impact on others, in a disasterous way. So, could I extend this to the ought that there is a spirit in sin, wanting to rule you?

But, we are alive from the dead and are urged to yield ourselves to God and ALL my parts for righteousness. I have a choice, I must choose life, not death.

Sin must NOT rule over me because I am no longer under law, where sin lives, but under grace, where glory lives. A good choice! Yes effort is required, but what a prize! Amen!
