Contentment

However, each one must live his life in the situation the Lord assigned when God called him. This is what I command in all the churches. Was anyone already circumcised when he was called? He should not undo his circumcision. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? He should not get circumcised. Circumcision does not matter, but keeping God's command does. Each person should remain in the life situation in which he was called. Were you called while a slave? It should not be a concern to you. But if you can become free, by all means take the opportunity. For he who is called by the Lord as a slave is the Lord's freedman. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ's slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brothers each person should remain with God in whatever situation he was called. 1Cor 7:17-24

Where does dissatisfaction fit in with Paul's message of: 'Be content as you are!' message? we would have to admit discontent rules our world. 'I am not happy on the farm I want a paid 9-5 job!' 'I am not content with my face, I will pay to alter it!' 'I am too fat, I am too thin, I don't like my hair, I don't like my skin!' on and on it goes.

Contentment with godliness is a great gain. 1 Tim 6:6   Notice it is not contentment with a life is the flesh and sin, but contentment with godliness is a great gain.

We must protect our minds and hearts from those medias that seek to make us discontent and so spend money we do not have for what we do not have. Crazy!

I am constantly pulling myself back from discontentment and making myself wait and be quiet. What will the Lord do? Why not find out!

We can trust our maker, His plans are best! Amen!
