Focused Living

I want you to be without concerns. As an unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord- how he may please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the things of the world- how he may please his wife- and his interests are divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord, so that she may be holy in body and in spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the things of the world - how she may please her husband. Now i am saying this for your own benefit, not to put a restraint on you, but becUse of what is proper and so that you may be devoted to the Lord without distraction. 1 Cor 7:32-35

Tonight i am attempting to write this on my mobile. The adds are right in my face and very distracting. I am attempting to concentrate on the things of God and being visually disturbed by the adds floating just down on the left. I think it ia the computer tomorrow.

Tonight i went out to be with a bunch of unsaved people. I left my mobile in the car. I wanted them to have all of my attention. It was an astronomical society meeting out doors. As it is winter we had a lovely log fire going as well. I cooked them sausages and we had a good time. What interesting people. What clever minds they have. What an honour to be with such people.

As a single woman I can afford to be focused on others. I want them to know the one I know. The One who will truely set them free. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
