God's Temple

Don't you yourselves know that you are God's sanctuary and that the Spirit of God lives in you? If anyone destroys God's sanctuary, God will destroy him; for God's sanctuary is holy; and that is what you are. 1Cor 3:16,17

When God gave Moses the pattern for the sanctuary in the desert, He appointed those who would service the tent. As God's temple we are responsible for this human tent. Excess cannot live in us anymore, we are holy and set apart for God's presence.

This does not mean I have to submit to rigorous exercise and diets, but to moderation and self-control. I was into the rigorous exercise and diet and unhappy and injured. For me extreme exercise broke my bones and tore my muscles. Rigorous diet controls left me with stomach issues. Moderation in both has given me a happy body which is fit for my age. I take no medication and eat a normal diet.

Excessive strictness is a form of striving and is of the flesh just as is laziness and obesity of the flesh in the opposite angle. I must walk humbly before my God. My boast must be in the Lord. Amen!

I am currently enjoying Indian food in preparation for my trip to Nepal. As I do not have Nepalese recipes, knowing they also use spices similar, I am eating Indian and loving it. I am climbing the hill in my neighbourhood, reading books about Nepal and talking to Nepalese people in Nepal. I want to be ready.

As I am the guardian of this temple I monitor what comes in the ears and eyes. My spirit needs feeding so that it will be strong and sustain me. This world is a mess and is unable to save itself, but Jesus is my Saviour and I can trust Him. Amen!

Remember we are accountable for this temple. If we destroy it, God destroys us. A heavy penalty!
