Legal Disputes

If any of you has a legal dispute against another, do you dare go to court before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Or do you not know that the saints will judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest cases? Don't you know that we will judge angels- not to mention ordinary matters? 1 Cor 6: 1-3

Settling disputes can easily escalate to legal courts just because we don't know how to confront, are reluctant to take the pain and confront or are too angry to confront. I find that if I am angry it is not a good time to confront as I will say and do foolish things that are purely emotive and totally useless in finding a resolution.

Learning to live a life of self-control is a challenge but doable. We have grace, abundant grace available for us. We can walk in grace. The key is to gain control through the Holy Spirit. Self-control is imperative if we are to confront and judge a matter.

We are given all we need by our Lord, we must trust Him and walk in faith with Him, instead of our  emotions. If we settle our issues as Jesus taught us: First go to the brother, second if he wont listen take a friend, third if he still wont listen go to the church. The church should be equipped to handle the matter, if not, Lord have mercy!
