Something in Common With all Men

Although I am a free man and not anyone's slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the law- though I myself am not under the law- the win those under the law. To those who are without the law, like one without the law-not being without God's law but within Christ's law-to those without the law. To the weak I have become weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some. I do all this because of the gospel, so I may become a partner in its benefits. 1Cor 9:19-23

I am one of those ridiculous people who goes so far in identifying with others I start to mimik their accents. I am so draw to their accents and I start to reflect it back to them. I am not being rude, or 'taking the mickey' as we Australians would say.

Wanting to hear the stories of others is a good start. Last night at church we were having some instruction on welcoming people to church and not saying, "are you new?' But rather, "I have not seen you before and had the pleasure of meeting you, tell me about yourself?"

I belong to different clubs so that I can meet others and learn from them. I have a thirst for knowledge and friendship. These two will take me far in meeting many diverse groups of people.

When we are consumed with our life and the problems in our life we are inward focused. Giving our problems to God and then stepping into the 'what if' is an adventure in itself.
