Unwavering Truth

Now brothers, I want to clarify for you the gospel I proclaimed to you; you received it and have taken your stand on it. You are also saved by it, if you hold to the message I proclaimed to you-unless you believed for no purpose. 1 Cor 15:1,2
 
When I became born again I received the fullness of the gospel. It brought life to my soul, filled me with joy and totally satisfied me.
 
Establishing my life in Christ I took a stand on the word, in all it entailed. I did not cut out the bits that made me uncomfortable, in fact I did the opposite, I embraced it, allowed it to work in my spirit and soul, challenge me, bring me to repentance and construct me as a dwelling in Christ.
 
Salvation is not a one-off experience, it is daily and on-going, it is living and active, just like the word of God. Daily I apply the word to my life and allow it to fertilize, chastise, revive, refresh, renew.
 
Jesus Himself told us the parable about the wise man who built his house on the rock. The Word of God is the rock and this is where I must establish myself, this is where I must find life. I must hold true to the message of the gospel and not waver. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
