Wisdom in Waiting

However, we do speak a wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. On the contrary, we speak God's hidden wisdom in a mystery, a wisdom God predestined before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written:
'What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind- God prepared this for those who love Him. 1Cor 2:6-9

I love the above verse 9:'What eye did not see and ear did not hear, and what never entered the human mind- God prepared this for those who love Him. This comes from the book of Isaiah, 64:4

It actually says: From ancient times no one has heard, no one has listened, no eye has seen God except You, who acts on behalf of the one who waits for You.

The key to me is to wait on God. I constantly have desperate cries in my heart for someone and I cant change them in myself. I am not God, I am not the Holy Spirit. There are times when these people hurt me and the pain is also there. But, it is not about me, what is God doing in both of us?

I am not clever enough to sell people on why they should allow God to change them, however I am clever enough to allow God to use my mouth, my hands, my feet. This is wisdom, cease from your own efforts and let God be God.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
