Godly Counsel



A fool’s way is right in his own eyes, but whoever listens to counsel is wise.
Proverbs 12:15 HCSB

This scripture is damning to a person who likes to determine their own way, ignoring the counsel of scripture.

Yesterday I had a conversation with my 10 year old grandson who said: " But what if others are right, as in other religions, and we are wrong?" We talked for a while on the authenticity of the gospel. I can see a real thinker is in our midst.

In our society we have the intellectuals who are determined that because they can think, they will work things out for themselves. My prayer is they meet the Lord, for conversation to convince will not work, whereas an encounter will.

I grew up in Catholicism and a love for learning yet an encounter with Christ stopped me dead in my tracks. He met me, after showing me my sin and I met the love of my life.

I am not God! Therefore I cannot judge God. He is above my thinking and attitude. Because I know Him, I trust and love Him. He is so good! Amen!

God has placed good counsel in my life and has trained my ear to listen. I am grateful! I can rely on Godly counsel. It saves me, again and again. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
