What Are You Looking At?
Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?
Matthew 6:26 HCSB
Tonight I am in Glen Innes in NSW, Australia. I took time to photograph the countryside. My girlfriend, who gives me somewhere to rest on my way through, took me to the lookout. There were huge pine trees there. At a certain time, just before the sun set and a flock of Australian Magpies returned to roost in the pine trees. Magpies have a pleasant song they sing. I could hear, what appeared to be, one outspoken loud bird.
It reminded me of a toy my grandchildren had. It was a singing bear. It sang the song: ' Singing in the rain.' I love that song and the posture of the bear as it danced as it sang. It reminds me of the posture of the rejoicing Christian. No matter what is happening, you can sing.
The Magpies were not conscious of how much they uad to eat, how their tree rates in the neighbourhood, what they looked like in comparison to some of Australia's glorious parrots. Parrots have the looks but can't sing like the magpies. The magpies have the voice.
So... what are you, or who are you comparing yourself to???
