Connecting With Power
Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for.
1 John 5:14-15
In this chapter John is discussing the fact that as a born again believer our prayers are heard. He talks about what our behaviour should be like as a born again believer.
Are you confident you prayers are being heard? Scripture tells us to come boldly before the throne of God. A bold person knows their sins are forgiven and that they have access to the Father. When you know you have access to the Father you can be bold in prayer.
There are times when I know how to pray about a matter; there are times when I am at a loss. In these times I go to the Father and ask Him, How do You want me to pray about this? Give me Your prayer about this?
Often, the first thing I do is go to Him and say, "Pappa". Before I say another word He is present and I know He hears. He is waiting for me to connect with Him. When I connect, then I can ask in prayer and know He hears. Amen!
The struggle for us is being able to stop and connect. If we are in the middle of a busy day, disconnecting from business can be a challenge. Sometimes this means going aside, perhaps to the bathroom for a spot of solitude. Whilst there, lay down your schedule, reach out and connect. He is waiting to connect, always, at all times. It is what He loves to do. You never know what the next person to use the bathroom will experience as you leave a heavenly fragrance, not a bad smell.
