Do You Know.Him?
If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.
John 15:7 HCSB
Verse 5 tells us if we remain in Him we produce much fruit and that our fruit will remain. Now we are told if we remain in Him our prayers are answered.
What does remaining in Him look like? It is not just an emotional fuzzy feeling from singing worship songs, it is a knowing that even in conflict we put His ways first. We may jave spent our whole working life, faithfully building a work God ordained but now out of left field we arw in a nasty conflict. In conflict we stand to lose all we have built and done because we walk after our emotions and not Him. Why is it in conflict we do not remain in Him? This is the very time we need to remain in Him.
What we have built could be a relationship, a church, a business or a combination. Why destroy all we have built because we are angry or hurt? What woukd God have us do? If we remain in Him and pray about the problem He will hear and answer. If we move out of Him we will not pray soon enough and stand to lose. The main thing we lose is having Him in the problem working for our good.
Anger can could good judgement. Our enemy wants us baptised in anger, in fact drowning in anger so that it is all we experience. We need to keep our hearts and minds ON Christ and allow Him to be God. This requires humility and stepping out of an angry place. Humility is a good attitude to take. When we humble ourselves we see the grace of God. Amen!
This morning I awoke to two thkngs: a reminder I am in conflict but more importantly I heard a song I had not heard for a long time. It was an old Hillsong song and it went very fast, at around 165 beats per minute. The opening words were: " Do you know Him?" The answer "yes I do!" The reply was, "Do you know what I say is true?" The reply, "Yes I di!" "Donyou know Him?" "Yes I do." what He did for me He will do for you!" Something along those lines.
The encouragement is He is listening, stay in Him and pray. Amen!
