I Will Not Perish


Because of the Lord ’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
Lamentations 3:22‭-‬23 HCSB

It is good to know God's mercies are new every morning. I don't know about you but there are days I am sure I have emptied the bank account. Yesterday I thought I blew the bank.

We are experiencing very hot weather at present and my decision to work from home is being tested. My mother is visiting, having had an eye operation on Thursday; I have had staff coming to the house; annoying people calling to complain about $11.00; struggles with programmes and the list goes on. I think what blew the bank for me was hearing that we have lost a good politician because the media crucified her. Why did that bother me? Because I hate injustice and malice.

I am so grateful for God's mercy. His mercy I crave. If I receive it I must give it. Today is another hot day amd another chance to test my resolve- will I give God the glory? Will I run to Him and not get in the ring myself. I have an abundance of work to do but what is God doing? Where is He? Where He is I must be. Amen!

I will not perish because of my God's faithful love. He is good. He is across this. I can trust Him. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
