New Things
“Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19 HCSB
Today we start a new year, 2017. I have a visa card that will expire in 2020, it replaced one that expired last year, so it is current.
All the things that happened in 2016 are past, they are a platform for what will happen this year. Earlier in this chapter the Lord talked of bringing his people back out of captivity, the captivity happened in the past yet it happened for a purpose and is now going to be built upon by a 'new thing.'
Last year was challenging for me but I built upon it and moved on. The Lord is promising something new this year. We need to be expectant as we enter the year. The lessons I learned from the difficult times are gold, I value them. I value my God's hand in my past and look forward to His hand in my future. Amen!
What will this year bring? Restoration had been promised. I believe it has already begun. Last year I started to sow seeds for a bumper crop this year. In myself I cannot do it, but God can. Amen! A way in the wilderness and a river in the desert, this I claim this year. Amen!
