Praising in the Fire
For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Luke 1:37 HCSB
These are the words spoken to Mary by Gabriel when he told her about her cousin Elizabeth's pregnancy. Elizabeth was old for having a child.
I am regularly faces with impossible situations and then I must decide: Today will I believe?
There are times I would rather not be stretched, most times they are inconvenient. Sometimes they are annoyingly inconvenient. I may go through a period of time where there are continually new stretches, one after another. It is as though I am in a fiery furnace. Perhaps my silver is being heated so thatbthe master can see His face in me.
At present is one such time. The fire is being poured on and the weather is hot as well. Yet in the midst of the heat is blessing. Yesterday I went shopping after chirxh. I needed to buy some winter clothes for my trip to Nepal. I had been given a store voucher for Christmas and that very store had clothes for winter (in the midst of a hot summer) on ridiculously low prices. On firday I received a cheque in the mail for my trip from an out of the way person I had met once.
I am in the refiners fire but would not be anywhere else because He is with me. I can praise Him in the furnace. Amen!Shadrach, Meshach and Abednigo all faced a real fire and they said: Even if He slays us we will still serve Him." Of course their God delivered them. He will also deliver me. Amen!
