Rebuilding
the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you. Again I will build you so that you will be rebuilt, Virgin Israel. You will take up your tambourines again and go out in joyful dancing.
Jeremiah 31:3-4 HCSB
A promise of restoration is always well received. God's word is full of such promises. Along with the hope of restoration is a call to prayer for those we desire to be restored to. At this time my heart is also called to prayer. The Lord's hand is on me to remember the good and forget the bad. When the bad is ever before our face it is more challenging to forgive, yet, to be restored forgiveness must wash us anew.
I praise God for all that was, remembering the good and forgetting, or forgiving, the bad. It is not important any more. Restoration is important, especially restoration of family and loved ones. Times of fasting and prayer helps this process.
I find that I am now able to pray good on those who have hurt me. It is no longer:'Show them Lord! I am good without them!' It is:'Have mercy on us Lord for we have sinned and fallen short of Your ways!'
Humility is good and helpful, always but proud hurting hearts don't want to go there. Praise God for His grace. Amen
