Thank You Lord


Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

I am awake at 3am Nepali time, having been smitten with a vomiting bug these past 24 hours. I am now on the mend. Praise God! My dear hosts have been endeavouring to feed me. They think you can eat your way out of vomiting. I beg to differ. We Westerners do it differently. We fast the bug out and eat when it is gone. I survived on sips of water.

Last night two were present whilst I vomited and wanted to take me to hospital. I laughed and said "No! It will be gone in 24 hours. It has. Perhaps I should have said a shorter time. I asked for plain chips to eat when I came out. The plainest they could find was sweet and sour. Plain is not common here. Everything is spiced.

I rejoice that my God is good and greater than all the works of the enemy. Amen! Being gracious takes some doing. With the Lord's help I will do it.

Much prayer and petition was given for me. I am blessed. Thank you to all who prayed. My challenge was to be receptive to the prayer offered when I was so miserable. My head has constantly thumped and outside dogs barked non-stop, or so it seemed. They are quiet now. Praise God!

Now I can worship and offer thanksgiving. Thank You Lord@ Amen@

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
