The God of Hope
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 HCSB
Yesterday I had a delightful experience. I was able to sit in beautiful garden and prepare a message I am to preach this morning to a church I do no know. My greatest joy was having God bring His word to me and fill me with all He wanted to do and say. I have missed this. I was a pastor for some 13 years and loved to preach and prepare God's word. To be used by Him again fills my heart with joy.
He is indeed the God of Hope, the God of joy, the God of peace. He is the source of all answers. My message to the Nepali is 'look to Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.' Many have come to me seeing only their lack but I see their abundance in Christ. We must see ourselves as He sees us. Today I pray the Lord uses me greatly. I want to see souls saved, the sick healed and lives made whole: body;soul and Spirit. Amen!
Yesterday I was blessed to be a blessing. While having lunch I saw a man who was hungry waiting for people to hire his cart. I told the young waiter to go and feed him and I would pay. The waiter was gobsmacked. He said, "Never have I seen this!" He is young and ripe for salvation. We told him we were Christians. He said to me, " You are the manifestation of goodness." I want him saved. Amen!
We then went off for an elephant ride through the jungle and spent time with several Nepali chatting away. It was peaceful. Next we drove to the city where I will preach, to our motel. We went for a walk and enjoyed shopping for items that I had long planned to buy. What a wonderful experience of being in crowds of chattering Nepali. They are delightful people.
My experience with my two companions is so refreshing. They are such fun! I am so blessed to have them. When I return to Kathmandu I will again be accompanied by another two and go in a different direction. What an experience!
My bed last night was comfortable but again we had loud music to tend with. Fortunately I found my ear plugs. Praise God!
