What is Heard?


So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.

Yesterday I spent most of the day with United Vision Nepal. First they told me about what they do. It is amazing what one man's vision can accomplish, in God. I am in awe. And yet, this humble man gave God the glory. They have a vision to have a pastor and village leader in every village in Nepal, working together to bring Christ to the village. They regularly train pastors and leaders. Last time I was here they were training village elders and this time they are training pastors. To say it was a humbling experience would be an understatement. In the 10 years over operation they have almost covered every district and seen over three thousands souls come to Christ.

The Hindu culture is a difficult one to break through but they are doing it.

Last night I caught up with some young men who treked with us last year. One has a kidney stone. I asked him if I might pray for him and he agreed. I laid hands on him and prayed. His healing would open up the boys to the gospel. Amen!

Tomorrow I go on an away mission over 5 days. We will go into difficult terrain in a Jeep. I will meet pastors and leaders and experience the impact they are having on their villages.

Yesterday in the meeting they were asking what I wanted to do. I did not know, precisely, but prayed for guidance and had a friend in Australia pray. Suddenly the Spirit of God came upon me and I knew I had to support pastors gain independence. They take the message of good news, they are on the front line and I will support them.amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
