Treasure
I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You.
Psalms 119:11 HCSB
Yesterday I shared how I had a struggle with my flesh but the word of the day spoke to me and I went and honoured it. I did indeed contact my friend and offer her food and she did drive my car all the way to our picnic spot and back. I sat in the back and was able to do what I miss- look around at the scenery.
When we arrived at the destination we found a delightful, peaceful spot. A small river gurgled over rocks, lush green vegetation caressed the banks of the river and it was quiet and peaceful. We unloaded our chairs and eskies and had morning tea. Four of us took off climbing over rocks, through water and up hills. We behaved like 5 year olds in 60 plus year old skins.
Mum and my friend who drove stayed behind and chatted. This was what they liked to do and we did what we liked to do. We challenged ourselves to traverse logs in the water, negotiate fast flowing water to cross from rock to rock. It was good fun.
I began a painting but had to leave before it was finished as rain was coming and we had to leave. I finished the painting at home.
We cannot treasure God's word if we do not have a habit of reading it. Reading it daily exposes us to it's life. As we are admonished for our behaviour we can choose to correct it.
He speaks to us through His word. If we don't read it we have stopped listening. We have apps available to is so that we can download plans and versions of the bible. We no longer need to be without our bible. Amen!
