Love Those Who Persecute
“But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do what is good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
Luke 6:27-28 HCSB
As the lines are drawn in society: those who condone same-sex marriage; those who don't: those who believe in violence to serve their God and those who don't, God's word prevails. We may have enemies but we are called to love them.
How do I love my enemies? I can pray God's richest blessing on them. May He invade their worlds and give them a revelation of Jesus Christ that gives them a new heart.
If Christians withdraw from society and allow an 'us and them' mentality to develop, critical thinking will cause hate to grown in hearts that have answers. Anyone who has Christ in their hearts has an answer for a fallen world.
We can talk ourselves into battlements and must be careful to seek the Lord for His greatness. If Jesus can be nailed to a cross and ask the Father to forgive those who crucified Him, surely we can seek the Father for their souls. Amen!
