Do You Love Me? Then Pray!

If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For the person who does not love his brother he has seen cannot love the God he has not seen.
1 John 4:20 HCSB

This scripture can never be more true than now. We have a man who declared himself a Christian in the White House in America. This man is hounded day and night by the media. What is written and spoken about the president is constantly in the faces of American Christians. This man needs their prayers, not condemnation. He probably also needs letters of support because his hate mail would be voluminous.

In Australia when prominent Christians are being vilified I pray. If they are catching the devil's attention, they need prayer. If they are doing right, they need prayer; if they are doing wrong, they need prayer. A praying Christian is a powerful Christian; a critical Christian is a powerless Christian.

If you are embarrassed by your brother or sister, you need to die to pride. Embarrassment is carnal anyway. It means: you make me look bad and it is important how I look right now. It is not about you but it is about your brother or sister. They need you to be there, present and in the trenches for them.

I know I value the prayers of others. They lift me up, strengthen me and carry me through. Start praying. Amen!
