Flesh or Spirit?

For those who live according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, about the things of the Spirit. For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind-set of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit itself to God’s law, for it is unable to do so. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you.

Living in a body, functioning in a fleshly world constantly wars with our spirit. However, if our spirit is committed to walking in the Spirit, then the flesh does not get a look in.

As the scripture above tells us, if I live according to the dictates of the flesh, I am walking in death. However:because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death, live in the Spirit.
Romans 8:2

What do I allow to fill my mind? Who is programming my mind? The world through TV shows or God's word and worship? Of late I have been more disinclined to watch TV. The morals of anything on TV are declining sharply. Why feed on death? I have been hopping into bed and putting on good music or a podcast and knitting. I have discovered slippers. So far I have shod 7 and am still going.

Now, this may not be your bag (idea of fun) play a game, do a puzzle, download a book and read it. Use your own brain. Don't be a vegetable. Think on good things, what is good and clean and holy and take every thought captive to Christ. Choose life not death. Amen!
