The Timing

There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1 HCSB

Knowing the right timing can be challenging. Being out of time can be frustrating. King David was anointed to be king at a young age but there was a time period. After he defeated Goliath he was given the King's daughter in marriage. He may well have thought he was on his way, until...the women started singing about Him being greater than king Saul, then jealousy entered Saul's heart and he was determined to kill David. Then David became a man on the run for years and years.

We know David's anguish through the Psalms. Just when all was lost, David became king. Yet kingship had its problems, David's son Absalom decided he wanted the throne and again David was on the run. He had to wait for God to restore him, and He did.

As we read David's life, a man loved by God had a terrible time. When we consider the Son of God, He also had a terrible time, and He was the Son of God.

All throughout the bible those God loved endured much hardship to overcome. Yet they stayed faithful to God in all they experienced because it was and is all about Him, revealing Him and His kingdom is what matters. Amen!
