The Refiners Fire

But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will be able to stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire and like cleansing lye. He will be like a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the Lord in righteousness.

Standing before the Son of God, it would have been daunting the first time when He came as man, how will it be when He comes as Son of God? I think even the greatest crim recognised he has met One with greater power. Even the biggest bully slinks away from true power.

The Son of God is pure and free from evil. Looking at purity, what will that be like? We see purity in babies but we do not see purity and power in many men or women. None (in mankind) is righteous, no not one! Romans 3:10,11

Our Lord's goal is to refine us like pure gold and silver. How does He do this? He applies the heat!
