A Good Name

The one who lives with integrity is righteous; his children who come after him will be happy.
Proverbs 20:7 HCSB

Walking in integrity, for the Christian, is walking in faith. Jesus told a parable of the talents. To the first man was given 5, the second 2 and the third 1. The man who was given 1 buried it in the ground, as he feared losing it and he also feared disappointing his master. Yet when his master returned he was rebuked, what he had was taken from him and given to someone else.

The third man did not walk in faith, rather fear. He drew back. Integrity demanded he honour his master's trust. His master did not expect as much from him as from the first and second, yet he only expected him to use the ability he had given him.

Integrity is first before God and second before man. God trusts us with His Spirit. We are given His power within to do what He has called us to do. Integrity demands we find that purpose and do it.
