Restraint
The intelligent person restrains his words, and one who keeps a cool head is a man of understanding. Even a fool is considered wise when he keeps silent, discerning when he seals his lips.
Proverbs 17:27-28 HCSB
Word restraint is good and worth pursuing. Talking too much is like taking a scourer to peoples brains. It is really aggravating. Taking time to listen and perceiving apt questions to ask about the listener is very wise. Watch them light up!
However, too much flattery is a waste of space. Try restraint! There's that word again!
A babbling brook is good over stones and beside silent trees. In other words water not human babble is best. Ha ha!
In fact a cool stream is refreshing.
