The Angel Came!

After the Sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to view the tomb. Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, because an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and approached the tomb. He rolled back the stone and was sitting on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his robe was as white as snow.

This is the first time I caught that the earthquake occurred because the angel came. How good and majestic is that! What a testimony to the guards. The guards would then report to Pilate, who would then have the fear of God in Him. Would He report this to Rome?

The other gospels mention the women coming but here we see them caught in an earthquake. How would that have been? The other disciples who have worried about them and wondered if the earthquake was an omen.

Now the women saw the angel. Was he a big guy? Was he Michael? What an entrance! What a beginning of the resurrection morning! Happy Easter!
