Stay the Distance

Therefore, since we have this ministry because we were shown mercy, we do not give up. Instead, we have renounced shameful secret things, not walking in deceit or distorting God’s message, but commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in God’s sight by an open display of the truth.
2 Corinthians 4:1‭-‬2 HCSB

Being shown mercy is a good reason to keep going. So many things will happen to attempt to dissuade us from keeping the faith and staying the distance.

What takes us out? Offence and shameful secret things. Just because we hide our sin from the church, our family or friends does not mean it is ok. We are seeing men in their 80 go to jail for sexual misconduct when they were younger and thought they would not be caught. There is a payday for everything. Remember that!

Jesus despised the shame of not having His family's support or His community's support and the fact that He was being crucified on a cross. A cross was a shameful way to die. He did not spit the dummy and say: " this is too hard, I am going home!" He stayed the distance and we can be grateful to Him. Amen!
