A Father to the Fatherless
God in His holy dwelling is a father of the fatherless and a champion of widows. God provides homes for those who are deserted. He leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a scorched land. Your God has decreed your strength. Show Your strength, God, You who have acted on our behalf.
Psalms 68:5-6, 28 HCSB
We must trust what scriptures says about God and us. Scripture must be the foundation of all we believe. For us who believe in prophesy we must watch for these to be fulfilled.
Our confession must be aligned with who God says He is and who He says we are. Grumbling about our circumstances is none of these. Where is God taking us? Where is He calling us?
David was a man who continually had to encourage himself in who He believed God to be, especially when he was in hiding from king Saul. David was Saul's future replacement and Saul was jealous. Being chased by a madman, living in caves would not be fun. What was David's confession? God is good, God delivers, God is near.
Our confession makes us and takes us into God's promises for our lives. We must apprehend His goodness, not the oppressors lies. Sing God's goodness! Shout for joy! Amen!
