A Woman of Faith

Hannah prayed: My heart rejoices in the Lord ; my horn is lifted up by the Lord . My mouth boasts over my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation. There is no one holy like the Lord . There is no one besides You! And there is no rock like our God.
1 Samuel 2:1‭-‬2 HCSB

Hannah had just taken her only child to live in the Temple with the priest Eli and his family. Leaving your child to be raised by another must have been so hard. Especially a man who did not father his own sons well.

Hannah was the second wife of her husband Elkhanah. His other wife had many children and made fun of Hannah who had been childless until she had Samuel.

Hannah was stepping out in faith to give her little one to Eli. She would have to have stepped out in faith to give him up. God honoured Hannah as Samuel grew to be one of the most honorable and effective man of God. Samuel anointed Saul and also David to be king.

Hannah's prayer, above, shows her character. She was definitely a woman of God. We can learn from her faith. We too can trust our God! Amen!
