Holding God's Hand
For I, Yahweh your God, hold your right hand and say to you: Do not fear, I will help you.
Isaiah 41:13 HCSB
When I was a little girl my dad would walk me to school and hold my hand. It was comforting and secure. A little older my granddad would hold my hand and walk down to the shops and we would look at toys and treats. Later on in life I married and my husband would hold my hand.
No matter what sort of person holds you hand, whether faithful or unfaithful, whether they are dead and gone, we have One who promises to hold our hand and get us through difficult places; places that make us tremble, places that challenge us or even just restful places.
My grandfather seemed the most restful of all. My dad was training me, my husband not always good to me but my granddad was very good to me.
We sense we need God to hold our hands when we struggle. However, I know for sure He wants to hold our hand just because He loves us. He loves our company. He delights in us wanting to spend time with Him. Amen!
