Let the Words of My Mouth.....

No foul language is to come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear. And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by Him for the day of redemption.
Ephesians 4:29‭-‬30 HCSB

In each of our cultures we might hear words, as we grown up from childhood and see them to be acceptable, perhaps because mum and dad used them or our friends used them. However, does the Holy spirit use them? In Australia I will hear a lot of: bloody, bugger and of late the younger generation uses friggin. There is of course the F word, however I have not heard that in church.

It is not what the people around us use, it is what God uses. We are from the family of God. The whole of this chapter is dealing with Christian behaviour. Paul is giving is a blue print on Christian life.

Our language is supposed to build up and not tear down and to give grace to those who hear. Grace sets free, it liberates. Does my language liberate people or does it comes out of culture which is carnal?

If we need help we can ask the Holy Spirit to sanctify our language. He is waiting to help. Amen!
